Hi all! Boy, this week has been long and quick all at the same time.
The last time I posted was a week ago and yet it seems longer than that.
The kids and I went Tuesday to see if the Bonds needed help moving. We got there just as Jamie, a new friend, was getting ready to head back to work. She had been watching all the kids, making sure they didnt' get in the way of the guys moving stuff out. So I filled in where she was. Mostly it was pushing the kids in the swing and keeping them in the play area. We were there a couple hours and then headed home for supper and bed time.
Wednesday my sisters and newest brother were on their way to spend the night before heading to KCI Thursday to take a trip to Oregon to attend my brother's college graduation. The kids and I cleaned up a little and hit Walmart to get an air mattress so my sister Mary and her husband Jon would have a place to sleep. We figured they would arrive around 6 pm and around 5 we got a call from Walgreens to pick up Hannah's prescription that she is on to help her from getting infections. Anyways, we headed out, gone but only about 20 minutes. WE got back, made supper and waited. 6, 6:30,7,7:30 rolled around and no sign of them. I was starting to get worried and was about to call my mom and get Jon's cell number when they appeared. The kids, expecting them around supper time, were getting kind of disappointed because with my family, notoriously, they are always late. When they are promised seeing someone, it is almost guaranteed that it won't be until the following day that they see them. It ends up they had arrived while we were at Walgreens and had decided to head to the Shoppes to look for swimming suits.
My parents arrived the following morning with biscuits and gravy for breakfast and then we took them to KCI. The kids were really good about the whole thing. Nathan wanted to know why we couldn't go and I had to explain that it cost a lot of money to fly to Oregon and that since we were 4 people with only 1 paycheck, it was hard to come up with that kind of money without lots of time to save it up. So, when he saw my parents arrive, he said in a matter of fact way," I am sorry that we can't go, but we don't have that kind of money." I kind of laughed. It has been an awkward thing because everything in my heart wanted to be there for my brother's graduation, but with the kids being full price and a one person income for 4 people, it was just impossible. I think I am most saddened by the fact that once I thought we could have gone. Chris' inventory bonus last fall was supposed to be enough and we had planned on surprizing my brother. But when the bonus fell through after delay, it was not enough time to save that much. Oh well. Some day we will make it out there. Now I am the only one besides my kids in the entire family who hasn't seen the ocean or a beach.
Anyways, after dropping them off, we headed home and got ready for Nathan's t-ball game. Chris had the day off, so he helped base coach. I think he really enjoys the time with the little boys and the dads who help. He said that this one kid, Landon, whose dad is stationed in Iraq, was hitting everyone on the bottom after the game saying, "Good job". He told Nathan, "See you later, rock star." We found out Thursday that most of the kids, minus maybe 2, will all be going to kindergarten at Coleman, so that will be neat.
Friday, lets see, Friday. Oh, we went to the park. Ended up meeting a lady who works with Chris and her kids there. Her little 7 year old was really sweet. He immediately came up to Nathan and said, "Hi, what is your name? I am Jeffery. Wanna play?". They took off, sharing each other's toys. It was way hot, so they decided to take their bottles of water and refill them with water from the fountain and pour it on the huge slide and then go down. After about 30 minutes we all decided it was way too hot for the park. So we headed to the mall for a glass of lemonade and to run around the fountain area. We went to the library after that and got some books before heading home.
Saturday, the kids and I decided to plan our Father's day for that night, since Chris was going to have to work all Sunday. We baked a chocolate cake with white frosting and Reeses pieces sprinkled on top. The kids also wanted to decorate the living room. Nathan was sure Dad needed purple and blue decorations. They also made posters that said happy father's day. Hannah drew one where her and Chris were riding on a roller coaster while acting like butterflies. Nathan drew a picture of a train that was loaded with coal. When Chris got home, they made him close his eyes so he would be surprized. He cleaned up and we took him to Rib Crib for supper. When we were there, the balloon guy was there, so Hannah took home a flower and Nathan took home a sword. They like the Rib Crib because they get an oreo cookie after their meal and a warm rag. We went home and ate a piece of cake while watching Lady and the Tramp on ABC.
This morning, we let Chris sleep in, because he had been up all night with Hannah. Looks as if she has a bladder infeciton again. Will go to the doctor tomorrow to see for sure. He didn't get to sleep in much, because he had to be at work. He and one other guy had to tackle the mad rush of people buying grills and patio furniture. We went to church. It was the new music minister's first sunday. It was different, but really neat. I enjoyed it. Rodneys sermon was on listening to the Father. An incredible sermon, but I don't know when it isn't. We came home and had lunch. Then we played games and baked banana muffins. By then it was time for supper. After supper, I was going to cut Nathan's hair. As I was prepping the stuff, he said, "Oh.. oh mom, look" I looked down and in his hand was his second lost tooth. He said, "I was just wiggling it and then POOOOOFFF!!! It came out like a lump in my hand." So now he is shaven headed and is missing his two bottom middle teeth. He is pretty proud.
And that is about it. Nathan has another t-ball game tomorrow night and Tuesday we are meeting Chris Coker, and his wife Cindy for the day. We haven't seen them since Christmas or since they found out they were pregnant. She is due in August. It will be nice to visit with them.
I hope this finds you all well and I am praying that you all are well. Until next time, in His care.
