And the summer goes on...

Hi! Today is recovery day. Monday we let Chris sleep. His Fathers day at Lowes ended up being pure chaos. As indicated from his post on this, he was a little out of his norm.
As we were doing that, Nathan discovered his coin for his tooth. He went into Hannahs room to show it to her and then left it on the bed so he could go eat breakfast. Well, a couple of weeks ago, the kids and I made "God boxes" for where they put their money to give to God. From the allowance they earn and whatever they choose to put in there. Anyways, Hannah has been putting any change she has found in there. Sure enough, she saw Nathan's coin and put it in her God box. Now, I made the boxes so that you can put money in, but would have to cut the box open to get it out. So when Nathan proceeded to look for his coin, I asked him to remember where it was. "I put it on Hannah's bed" he said. So we looked in the sheets and under the bed. Then he asked Hannah if she had seen a coin on her bed. She said "Yep and it is in the God box".
Nathan started to cry and I told him that a coin was easy to replace and that it had been an accident. It was good that Hannah wanted to give to God. Then he proceeded to say that no, he forgot. He took the coin to his room and Hannah had stolen it. I got upset and told him those were some pretty heavy accusations and that he and Hannah needed to talk and tell me the truth. I went into the other room and came back. The first thing out of Nathan's mouth was "I'm sorry mom. I lied about it being in my room. I just wanted you to get mad at Hannah about my coin." I started to tell him that he owed Hannah an apology when she cut in and said "Mommy, we already said we were sorry. I told Nathan I was sorry about his coin and he said he was sorry about saying something mean about me". I was impressed. On their own, they had resolved an issue, had heard God's voice on what was right and had responded without either of our prompting. Both Chris and I were impressed and wanted to do something to reward such a good thing. To reaffirm that they had pleased God. So, we decided to take them to the St. Joseph water park before the T-ball game. It had a lazy river, water slides, an olympic sized pool, and a kiddie area with a waterfall. We were there till 4:30, when we headed to the car to change our clothes.
T-ball game started at 5 and Nathan batted first. He had a really good hit past 2nd base one time. We came home and the kids wanted to help finish their chores, so they both washed one load of dishes and cleaned the refrigerator and stove for me. They picked up their toys, and re-made their beds. With the extra help, I was once again glad for their help. A trip to dippin dots for dessert ended the night.
We headed to the Cokers around 9 am Tuesday morning. Cindy had a doctors appointment and we were going to meet them at their house after the appointment. After a little visitiing, the guys went off to go fishing and the girls went to Babys-r-us to help Cindy finish registering for their church shower. Just as we were leaving the store, the guys called and wanted to know where to meet us for lunch. We ended up meeting them back at the house and piled all into one vehicle and headed to McDonalds. After lunch, we went back to their house. The guys watched ESPN and I helped Cindy put the baby clothes she already had in the dresser and helped her make the bed in her crib. We cleaned a little in the nursery and then decided to take the kids to the park across the street. We were over at the park for a couple of hours when Chris and Chris came by and said that they had run to KFC and had supper. So we went back to their house and had supper. Played a game of go fish in there too and then decided it was time to head home. WE got home around 10:20 and by the time we got the sleeping kids inside and got ourselves into bed, it was midnight.
Today we are headed to the store to get some hydrocortizone cream for the 1,000,000 chigger bites Nathan has and some toilet cleaner. I want to get the chores done from yesterday done as well as todays. My parents will be coming back from Oregon on Saturday sometime and I don't want to worry about laundry or dishes or all that when they are here.
Thats about it. It has been pretty miserable hot here, so being inside has become a regular thing. The kids are playing well and haven't gotten too bored yet.
Well, hope this finds all well and will write again soon!
Until then, all our love!
