Doctor's appointments and a camping trip

Hi! Hope this finds everyone doing well.
Well, Monday we started our day with a phone call from Hannah's doctor. They were wondering if she was going to come in for her 4 year old check up that I had forgotten to schedule. I was referred to the receptionist, who asked if we could be in there in an hour.
So, after rushing through breakfast, our new morning chores and getting ready, we headed over. She did well, in the 75% for both her height and weight. Then they asked if we wanted to go ahead and get her kindergarten shots out of the way. I said, why not.
So, she did that. Well, since that was NO fun, we ran home ate some lunch and then went to the park with a bunch of sports equiptment. We played a little soccer and tennis before the kids decided to just go to the playground. While they did that, I continued to play against a wall some tennis. It was nice. Chris and I used to play all the time in Joplin when we were dating. It was a regular thing that when family visited, we cooked out or picnicked and played tennis. I had forgotten how much fun it was and how many good memories I had.
Anyways, around 4:30, we headed home in order to get ready for Nathan's last t-ball game. It was a good one. he got to play short stop, 1st base and outfielder. At the end of the game, he exchanged phone numbers with a friend of his, Will. His parents are really nice, and we said we would have to get the kids together again.
Tuesday, we woke up and did our regular chores. Kept a pretty good schedule.
Oh yeah, almost forgot. After the t-ball game Monday, we were going to grill some hamburgers in celebration. I decided that while Chris was making the hamburgers outside, I would cook up some bacon in the kitchen. I went out side for maybe 5 minutes to take Chris some cheese to put on the burgers when they were ready and he looked in the window and said, "hey, .....HEY!!!! our kitchen is on fire!" We both ran in and I shut the burner off while Chris grabbed the handle of the pan with a mit and took it outside. He threw it in the ditch and went inside to find our fire extinguisher while I got Nathaniel's water gun and kept the ground around the pan wet. The apartment STUNK!! So we ended up eating outside while the apartment aired out. We ushered the kids inside for bed with towels over their noses and mouths so they wouldn't breathe the stench. I felt really stupid.
Anyways, we just played at home Tuesday, keeping a good schedule.
Wednesday, we got up, did our chores, because our motivation is that if we do the work first, then we can spend all day doing fun, but if we do the fun first, we will end up working all day. That keeps them on track!! :-)
Then, they decided they wanted to go to Once upon a child to play in their play area. I looked at stuff in their sizes for the fall and baby stuff for Cindy and Chris Coker. Then Hannah spotted this really neat puppet castle. She had put her fisher price little people in storage because she was ready to play with big girl toys, so we had in mind to garage sale them.
Well, Once upon a child is a consignment shop, so we took the play sets in and ended up getting almost $25 for it. We brought home the puppet playhouse and a set of geo trak stuff for Nathan and had cash to spare. Yahoo! We need it.
Chris got off at 4, so we spent the evening ready books and just hanging out.
Today, we got up, did our chores and such and Nathan and Chris went out to do guy stuff. Hannah and I stayed home and baked sugar cookies. After Chris went to work, we finished our lunches and got ready for our friend Gretchen to come and play.
She got here around 1:30. We see her at church, but it has been a while since we have gotten to catch up. She is a junior at Missouri Western with a heart to do mission work in Asia. Such a blessing to call her friend. She stayed until almost 5 and then headed home. She is going to meet us sometime next week or the week after that at Bartlett park to have a water fight, picnic and play. We cleaned up the rest of our toys and ate supper and had baths. The kids are in bed for now. Nathan and I are going to camp in the back yard when I am done here and when Chris gets home in about 40 minutes.
He has been wanting to go camping for some time. We don't own a tent, though. We just have this play house thing. So we are going to try that. Chris said that if he likes it, maybe we can go camping next summer after investing in all the equiptment.
So, that is it. The kids already did in advance their room chore for tomorrow in the hopes that we can do something fun. I am thinking that since it has been a while since we visited the train walking place that we might do that in the morning. WE are supposed to get really hot tomorrow, so afternoon will be spent inside doing something simple.
Hope this finds you all well.
In regards to Chris, a friend of his got word from Russ (store manager) that he didn't need a reason to keep Chris. That he would force Chris out. Meanwhile, the human resource manager at a new Lowes in Decatur, Texas called today. They are looking for qualified managers from inside the company to transfer and wondered if he was interested. We are praying about it. We really feel like there are too many coincidences here in St. Joseph to leave, but we know that we are never to feel at home while we are here on earth. That our true home is in heaven.
Just hard to think about moving when we are so established here and ready to go for school, but we will follow where He leads us. Please be in prayer for that.
That if we are meant to stay, that things at Lowes will settle down and there will be peace between Russ and Chris. And that if we are meant to move on, that God will make bold moves to show us His way.
Always in my heart!
And now off to sleep in the yard with a 5 year old and his pack of puppies!! :-)

June is almost gone!

As I sit here, I am amazed at the fact that this next week is the last week of June. That is so wierd. I am trying to think of what we did this week. It seemed in some ways like more than one week. More like two.
Thursday, a friend of ours and her daughter came over. Lisa had two doctor's appointments and so we were going to let Mary Rose play while mommy did that. The girls had fun, minus two incidents when Hannah kicked and shoved her. I was so upset. I just don't know what to do with her. She ended up not having a bladder infection. However, she is back to throwing a fit and wetting her pants. I am struggling to keep my patience with her. And when it affects other people, it is wearing. I visited with mom #2 (Lorna), she said that maybe I needed to come down really hard on her and remind her who was the authority in our home. After talking for about 30 minutes, I recognized that some of the fault is mine. I have babied the kids in the denial that they are both going to school in the fall. I am struggling with that. I feel like all the time and all the great things I was going to do with them when they were home is over. In the exhaustion I have put on myself for failing my expectations, I have allowed them to run the house and mood of the house. So, starting tomorrow, we are getting on a tough schedule and the start has to be with me.
Anyways, Mary Rose and Lisa were here until about 4 and then they went home and we played outside for awhile until it was supper time. Then supper, books and bedtime.
Friday, we spent the day at the library. I ran our rent by the landlords and dropped off our old books. We then went to Rolling Hills and picked out two huge stacks of books. Some that Nathan can read himself. (We've got to get him to practicing for kindergarten) We dropped the books off home and met Chris at Lowes so we could go grocery shopping. Since it was the check for everyone to get their allowances, Nathan bought a water gun and some water balloons. Hannah still hasn't spent hers. After about 4 stores, we dropped the food off and hit Pizza Hut for supper. When we got home, we put the non-cold items up and got ready for bed. Couple of stories and to bed, and that ended our Friday.
On Saturday, we got up and the kids played with a friend from up the hill, also named Nathan. They had a water balloon fight. At lunch time, I sent the Nathan (neighbor) home for lunch and did lunch for my kids. Chris was out and about having some down time. It was about that time that a freak down pour of rain hit the town. it was a nice rain, but really strong. To call it a burst of rain was exactly what it was. The kids quickly put on their rain jackets and rushed out to run around in the quickly growing puddles. It was when we heard lighting that we came inside. It rained most of the rest of the afternoon. So, while we cleaned up before I had to pick up my parents from KCI, we watched a movie. Supper and books finished the night before I had to head to Kansas City. Chris put them to bed while I headed out. Their flight was a little delayed due to the weather. And the airport was so empty.
We got back to the apartment around 9:30. After hearing about their trip and seeing pictures and getting them settled in, we were all in bed around 11.
Today, I subbed in the kindergarten class during the sunday school hour. We all attended the 11 service together. A really great message by Rodney about confessions, commitments and keeping promises (being continually faithful). Chris went forward, admitting that when he asked Jesus into his heart when he was 8 that it was more just words than belief. Now that he was going to turn 30, he was realizing what grace really was. That God really loved him, created him and had him on this earth for a purpose and that it was time to be doing more. He is feeling a work and a change coming on that he can't really describe.
Work at Lowes has been pretty tough on him. On Friday, he was informed that his store manager basically had his replacement ready and that they were just waiting for motive to get rid of Chris. However, the guys in his department did so well over Memorial weekend that they all received the biggest bonuses they have ever gotten ever. He was pretty crushed.
He has put in for a transfer and is looking into options around St. Joe. We are praying that God will open a door, because we really love it here, however, we trust that whatever God is doing, he won't leave us hanging. Please be praying.
Well, need to get to bed. I am bushed and if I am going to do what I want to tomorrow, I need my rest.
All of our love to all of you and will post again soon!

And the summer goes on...

Hi! Today is recovery day. Monday we let Chris sleep. His Fathers day at Lowes ended up being pure chaos. As indicated from his post on this, he was a little out of his norm.
As we were doing that, Nathan discovered his coin for his tooth. He went into Hannahs room to show it to her and then left it on the bed so he could go eat breakfast. Well, a couple of weeks ago, the kids and I made "God boxes" for where they put their money to give to God. From the allowance they earn and whatever they choose to put in there. Anyways, Hannah has been putting any change she has found in there. Sure enough, she saw Nathan's coin and put it in her God box. Now, I made the boxes so that you can put money in, but would have to cut the box open to get it out. So when Nathan proceeded to look for his coin, I asked him to remember where it was. "I put it on Hannah's bed" he said. So we looked in the sheets and under the bed. Then he asked Hannah if she had seen a coin on her bed. She said "Yep and it is in the God box".
Nathan started to cry and I told him that a coin was easy to replace and that it had been an accident. It was good that Hannah wanted to give to God. Then he proceeded to say that no, he forgot. He took the coin to his room and Hannah had stolen it. I got upset and told him those were some pretty heavy accusations and that he and Hannah needed to talk and tell me the truth. I went into the other room and came back. The first thing out of Nathan's mouth was "I'm sorry mom. I lied about it being in my room. I just wanted you to get mad at Hannah about my coin." I started to tell him that he owed Hannah an apology when she cut in and said "Mommy, we already said we were sorry. I told Nathan I was sorry about his coin and he said he was sorry about saying something mean about me". I was impressed. On their own, they had resolved an issue, had heard God's voice on what was right and had responded without either of our prompting. Both Chris and I were impressed and wanted to do something to reward such a good thing. To reaffirm that they had pleased God. So, we decided to take them to the St. Joseph water park before the T-ball game. It had a lazy river, water slides, an olympic sized pool, and a kiddie area with a waterfall. We were there till 4:30, when we headed to the car to change our clothes.
T-ball game started at 5 and Nathan batted first. He had a really good hit past 2nd base one time. We came home and the kids wanted to help finish their chores, so they both washed one load of dishes and cleaned the refrigerator and stove for me. They picked up their toys, and re-made their beds. With the extra help, I was once again glad for their help. A trip to dippin dots for dessert ended the night.
We headed to the Cokers around 9 am Tuesday morning. Cindy had a doctors appointment and we were going to meet them at their house after the appointment. After a little visitiing, the guys went off to go fishing and the girls went to Babys-r-us to help Cindy finish registering for their church shower. Just as we were leaving the store, the guys called and wanted to know where to meet us for lunch. We ended up meeting them back at the house and piled all into one vehicle and headed to McDonalds. After lunch, we went back to their house. The guys watched ESPN and I helped Cindy put the baby clothes she already had in the dresser and helped her make the bed in her crib. We cleaned a little in the nursery and then decided to take the kids to the park across the street. We were over at the park for a couple of hours when Chris and Chris came by and said that they had run to KFC and had supper. So we went back to their house and had supper. Played a game of go fish in there too and then decided it was time to head home. WE got home around 10:20 and by the time we got the sleeping kids inside and got ourselves into bed, it was midnight.
Today we are headed to the store to get some hydrocortizone cream for the 1,000,000 chigger bites Nathan has and some toilet cleaner. I want to get the chores done from yesterday done as well as todays. My parents will be coming back from Oregon on Saturday sometime and I don't want to worry about laundry or dishes or all that when they are here.
Thats about it. It has been pretty miserable hot here, so being inside has become a regular thing. The kids are playing well and haven't gotten too bored yet.
Well, hope this finds all well and will write again soon!
Until then, all our love!

This week gone by

Hi all! Boy, this week has been long and quick all at the same time.
The last time I posted was a week ago and yet it seems longer than that.
The kids and I went Tuesday to see if the Bonds needed help moving. We got there just as Jamie, a new friend, was getting ready to head back to work. She had been watching all the kids, making sure they didnt' get in the way of the guys moving stuff out. So I filled in where she was. Mostly it was pushing the kids in the swing and keeping them in the play area. We were there a couple hours and then headed home for supper and bed time.
Wednesday my sisters and newest brother were on their way to spend the night before heading to KCI Thursday to take a trip to Oregon to attend my brother's college graduation. The kids and I cleaned up a little and hit Walmart to get an air mattress so my sister Mary and her husband Jon would have a place to sleep. We figured they would arrive around 6 pm and around 5 we got a call from Walgreens to pick up Hannah's prescription that she is on to help her from getting infections. Anyways, we headed out, gone but only about 20 minutes. WE got back, made supper and waited. 6, 6:30,7,7:30 rolled around and no sign of them. I was starting to get worried and was about to call my mom and get Jon's cell number when they appeared. The kids, expecting them around supper time, were getting kind of disappointed because with my family, notoriously, they are always late. When they are promised seeing someone, it is almost guaranteed that it won't be until the following day that they see them. It ends up they had arrived while we were at Walgreens and had decided to head to the Shoppes to look for swimming suits.
My parents arrived the following morning with biscuits and gravy for breakfast and then we took them to KCI. The kids were really good about the whole thing. Nathan wanted to know why we couldn't go and I had to explain that it cost a lot of money to fly to Oregon and that since we were 4 people with only 1 paycheck, it was hard to come up with that kind of money without lots of time to save it up. So, when he saw my parents arrive, he said in a matter of fact way," I am sorry that we can't go, but we don't have that kind of money." I kind of laughed. It has been an awkward thing because everything in my heart wanted to be there for my brother's graduation, but with the kids being full price and a one person income for 4 people, it was just impossible. I think I am most saddened by the fact that once I thought we could have gone. Chris' inventory bonus last fall was supposed to be enough and we had planned on surprizing my brother. But when the bonus fell through after delay, it was not enough time to save that much. Oh well. Some day we will make it out there. Now I am the only one besides my kids in the entire family who hasn't seen the ocean or a beach.
Anyways, after dropping them off, we headed home and got ready for Nathan's t-ball game. Chris had the day off, so he helped base coach. I think he really enjoys the time with the little boys and the dads who help. He said that this one kid, Landon, whose dad is stationed in Iraq, was hitting everyone on the bottom after the game saying, "Good job". He told Nathan, "See you later, rock star." We found out Thursday that most of the kids, minus maybe 2, will all be going to kindergarten at Coleman, so that will be neat.
Friday, lets see, Friday. Oh, we went to the park. Ended up meeting a lady who works with Chris and her kids there. Her little 7 year old was really sweet. He immediately came up to Nathan and said, "Hi, what is your name? I am Jeffery. Wanna play?". They took off, sharing each other's toys. It was way hot, so they decided to take their bottles of water and refill them with water from the fountain and pour it on the huge slide and then go down. After about 30 minutes we all decided it was way too hot for the park. So we headed to the mall for a glass of lemonade and to run around the fountain area. We went to the library after that and got some books before heading home.
Saturday, the kids and I decided to plan our Father's day for that night, since Chris was going to have to work all Sunday. We baked a chocolate cake with white frosting and Reeses pieces sprinkled on top. The kids also wanted to decorate the living room. Nathan was sure Dad needed purple and blue decorations. They also made posters that said happy father's day. Hannah drew one where her and Chris were riding on a roller coaster while acting like butterflies. Nathan drew a picture of a train that was loaded with coal. When Chris got home, they made him close his eyes so he would be surprized. He cleaned up and we took him to Rib Crib for supper. When we were there, the balloon guy was there, so Hannah took home a flower and Nathan took home a sword. They like the Rib Crib because they get an oreo cookie after their meal and a warm rag. We went home and ate a piece of cake while watching Lady and the Tramp on ABC.
This morning, we let Chris sleep in, because he had been up all night with Hannah. Looks as if she has a bladder infeciton again. Will go to the doctor tomorrow to see for sure. He didn't get to sleep in much, because he had to be at work. He and one other guy had to tackle the mad rush of people buying grills and patio furniture. We went to church. It was the new music minister's first sunday. It was different, but really neat. I enjoyed it. Rodneys sermon was on listening to the Father. An incredible sermon, but I don't know when it isn't. We came home and had lunch. Then we played games and baked banana muffins. By then it was time for supper. After supper, I was going to cut Nathan's hair. As I was prepping the stuff, he said, "Oh.. oh mom, look" I looked down and in his hand was his second lost tooth. He said, "I was just wiggling it and then POOOOOFFF!!! It came out like a lump in my hand." So now he is shaven headed and is missing his two bottom middle teeth. He is pretty proud.
And that is about it. Nathan has another t-ball game tomorrow night and Tuesday we are meeting Chris Coker, and his wife Cindy for the day. We haven't seen them since Christmas or since they found out they were pregnant. She is due in August. It will be nice to visit with them.
I hope this finds you all well and I am praying that you all are well. Until next time, in His care.

Okay

Okay all, this if my first post on the blog, or as I like to call it "invade our lives please," but it is mostly just to say that due to my incredible computer skills and savvy, I have now made it possible for people to make comments on our beloved invasion of privacy. J/K but feel free to make any comments on my crack-ridden comments today as I am warped in the head, and I am extremely tired, but jittery. Had a rousing game of t-ball tonight, I helped in the dugout, coached 3rd base and made rude comments about the other team's coach. Seriously, the other team had about 14 players to our 8, and they never got their players on the field in less than 10 minutes. Come on, it isn't that hard to get 5 year old out in the dirt. Also, the coach was acting like this was triple-a ball and yelling at the kids and stuff. Oh well, the kids had fun. Also, one little boy came in after one inning and was patting us all on the bottom out of the blue saying good game. Too much NBA finals watching for this kid. Okay, better go before my incoherent rambling turns into something the CIA might want to pinpoint me on. Guess what? There was somekind of raccoon fight outside tonight, sounded scary.
See ya
Chris

New friends, going home to God and birthmarks

Hi again!
I am always amazed at how quick my kids are at pointing me right back to Christ. Over the weekend of the wedding, the crazy Friday, it was my kids who asked how come we hadn't invited Jesus to be a part of our schedule yet and this weekend it was Hannah who asked when we would be home with God.
I had been trying to regain some order to our home this weekend and trying to keep the kids from being bored. Saturday we were in Hannah's room reading our morning devotion and reading our memory verse when she asked when we would get to go home with God. I took us to Psalms 139 to read about how God had specially formed us and knew everything about us, including when we would be home with Him. We talked about how God saw our thoughts and could see us when we were in our mommy's tummys. Nathan asked how God knew we were finished and I said that I had heard a funny story about how birthmarks were where God kissed you when He was finished and saw that you were good. Now, I have a big birthmark on my calve, so I could show the kids mine. That proceeded into a birthmark show and tell. Now, I have know where my kids marks were since they were small, so it was fun to remind them. Nathan's is at his hair line on the right side of his head and Hannah's is on her left hip.
So of course, when Chris gets home from work, their first words to him are, "Show us where God kissed you." He was a little baffled until I explained.
I am anxious to see what else they will discover in our morning devos this summer, as they have been so curious lately.
Sunday we woke up early to attend the 8am service together since Chris had to work. He found out when he returned after vacation that 3 of his employees had either quit or turned in their 2 week notices. He was a little frustrated because he was hoping to be able to take his lunch hour Sunday and join us at the dinner for Mark and Rachel. Anyways, we went to church and then went home so he could run to work and we could prepare our side dishes for the dinner. We made up our macaroni and cheese and then laid down to rest for a half hour before heading to the church. The dinner was really nice and I think just about anyone who cares for the Bond's at least shed one tear. They have such a special place in Chris and I 's heart because they were the first people to welcome us to St. Joseph and anytime we have ever needed them, they have been so faithful to show us Christ. We feel like we owe them so much and yet we know the best we can give them is our friendship and our prayers. As God moves them to another community and church, we are excited to see and hear how He will move them and grow them. We know from personal experience in the moves we have made that when God is behind them, amazing things happen. We were talking about the sheer coincidence that most of our friends have some conneciton now to Joplin and wondered what that meant. Matt and Shanna Myers were Ozarkians, as well as Chris Coker, Eric Koenig, Clay and Jenn Atchley, Melissa Plunk. Our friends Jon and Sara Hill live there and now Mark and Rachel. Joplin has its own specialness to Chris and I because it is where we met and fell in love.
Anyways, the dinner was great and we are praying this next week is good for them as the move happens. My prayer especially is for their girls who are doing such an amazing job hanging in there. Sunday afternoon, we came home and played with Brett, Abram and their nephew Jamison. Bedtime to follow. Then today we went over to introduce ourselves to some people across the street who have two girls and a boy. We played most of the early afternoon with them and making ourselves aquainted. Dionelle, Andrea, Cassoday and Emily. It will be nice to continue to grow a friendship there and play and be a light to them.
To finish out the day, Nathan had a T-ball game and we read books after baths. Tomorrow we will probably head over to Mark and Rachels to see if they need anything or help before they head out. Other than that, my goal is to finish the living room and hall and vaccuum. Yahoo!!
Until next time, all my heart goes to all of you who read this!

We're back!!

We are back! I am telling you, between the heat and the traveling, I am beat!
Ok, from the start, we got back from Branson Wedneday night around 10pm. It was a good trip. Lots of fun, but super crazy. Not a place we will probably vacation often, that is for sure.

We went to church last Sunday to the 9:30 service. Our truck was loaded so we headed out on our way after that. I had packed a picnic lunch so we could stop and do that. We ended up eating sparatically from St. Joseph to Sedalia. A potty stop there and then on down south. We arrived in Branson around 5pm. We checked into our hotel, looked around the grounds and then headed out for Pizza. We went to this place called Papa Grands and it had this huge guitar sticking out of its roof. It was pretty good. Then we ran to Walmart to pick up some plastic wear and milk for cereal in the morning. WE thought the deal was that the place we had was more like what my parents have with a kitchen. Well, you got to stay in one of those if you bought part of their property, which was the meeting we had to attend Monday morning. So our cooler was full of ice to keep the groceries cold that we had brought. We came back to the hotel and the kids crawled into the huge tub and took a bath while Chris and I tried to come up with a plan for while we were there.
Monday we had to be at the meeting at 8:30, so we got up, ate some cereal and were under the impression the meeting would take 90 minutes. We were in there for 4 hours. In addition to it being our anniversary, we were feeling like our time was being wasted. We listened to them and then politely declined 5 times!!. It was like they didn't get that we really didn't want to invest $10,000 in a 2nd home when we don't even have a 1st. We left there and headed to Steak and Shake for lunch, since it is Chris' fav restaurant. WE came back to the hotel to take a nap before heading to Celebration City. We got there at 3, when the park opened. We rode the carosel first, and then the go karts. We headed from there to the Veggie Tales movie and to meet Bob and Larry. After that we rode a water ride and the kids rode a couple of kid rides before we headed to the eatery for supper. They had a barbeque place, so we had pulled pork sandwiches. Then it was off to the ferris wheel to see the sunset and let our food settle. Then we rode the bumper cars and Chris headed for the Ozark Wildcat. The kids and I went to the kids part again and they rode an airplane, a train and some ladybugs before wanting to go on one that threw you up in the air. At first, Hannah wasn't sure she liked it. She cried, then laughed, then cried, then laughed. She went a second time and decided she hated it. Then they all dared me to ride the Ozark Wildcat, so I did. It was really fun, and fast. By this time, it is moving on the time where they set off fireworks, so Hannah and I headed to the carosel for that as her last ride and Chris and Nathan headed to the flying airplanes for their last ride. We went to the parking lot to sit int he bed of the pickup to see the fireworks. The kids were tired, so we headed back, all to bed by 11pm
Tuesday we woke up late, getting to sleep in. We went swiming for about 2 hours before heading to the hotel to get ready for our trip on the Branson scenic railway. We got there and loaded the train. We were in the dome car, which meant we were above the whole train. We rode through 2 tunnels and over 2 trestles. I am sure that if you know Nathan very well, he was on the edge of his seat the entire 2 hours we were gone. They had a snack car, so we got a drink to share and ate in the dining car. If you see him soon, you will have to ask him about it.
It was a really cool ride for all of us. On the way back to the hotel, we looked at a couple of the shops and hit Montana Mikes to use our food voucher for supper. Chris got a steak and I got Chicken fried steak. Nathan decided he liked mine too, so he ate half mine. Hannah had a grilled cheese and that was good for her. WE got back to the hotel and watched a movie and then headed to bed.
Wednesday, we checked out and went to Krispy Kreme to see doughnuts be made and then eat some. The kids thought it was amazing to see. They got a free trial doughnut in it. Then it was on to Springfield to check out the Bass Pro. We got there at 11:30 and left there around 3pm. there were some really neat things inside. One of the fish was "waving" at Hannah. I got video of it, it was pretty cool. Then we headed to Lamberts on our way out of town. When we got there, figuring since it was the middle of the afternoon, they wouldn't be busy. Wrong! The CBS early morning show was there doing a special segment on travel or something, so it was crazy busy. It was ok. The kids thought the throwed rolls were cool and the fact that they just dumped fried okra in the middle of your table. We were on our way back home by 5pm.
A couple of stops for potty and one time at Harry Truman reservoir for a "stretch". You know, Chris needed to stretch his arm with a reel and rod in it there. :-)
No catching anything, but it was a nice pitstop. We were home in St. Joe late.
Woke up to unpacking things and the kids played all day in their rooms. We took a break from all the "fun" to go mini golfing.
Today we went and got groceries and visited the Bond family garage sale. Right now, the kids are resting and Chris went to donate blood and hit the library. WhenI get off, I have laundry to fold and dishes to wash and to put the suitcases away. Hopefully the next week won't be much.
Sunday is a dinner for the Mark and Rachel, whom we will miss much, but know God has his hand on their path. And Chris is back to work tomorrow morning.
I hope all of you are staying cool and keeping Christ first.
Will write again soon and maybe not so tired. :-) (Yeah, right!)
All our love

The rest of this week

Hi! This week has flown by.
Hard to believe that a week has gone by since the wedding.
Lets see. Tuesday I hit rock bottom. I guess with the wedding and exhaustion and the ever pressing question of what I am going to do when the kids go to school, I hit bottom. I was tired and the kids and I decided to clean up after ourselves and the dump of stuff. We vacuumed, picked up our rooms and tried to get things organized.
Wednesday was Chris' last day before some time off. We picked up some groceries and played. By Thursday, I had nothing to do to keep my mind off the stress I have been going on. I broke down and slept most of the day. Chris took the kids to the park and to Target. After journalling and praying and crying, I felt a little better. I guess just the overwhelming unknown and loss of my position of full-time stay-at-home mom is getting to me.
We woke up today and had decided to go fishing, but instead, Chris slept in and the kids and I played. Then, this afternoon we went to Happy Holler, a fishing place north of here. We got there around 3pm. We caught about 10-15 little to medium fish. Hannah caught the most. We told her she got to pick where we ate for supper. By the time we realized how long we had been there, it was moving on 8pm. We headed home, hitting Mc Donalds on the way home. We got back around 10pm. Looks like another day of sleeping in tomorrow too.
Tomorrow is Nathan's t-ball game and Chris wants to hit the flea market south of town.
On Sunday we are headed to Branson for a mini family vacation. Chris won free lodging down there. We get $30 in food vouchers and tickets to Celebration City. All we are paying for is gas. I will probably write about it the next time I am on.
One more thing, if you would all pray for my aunt. She had back surgery on Wednesday. I talked to her daughter today and she was in therapy. Up and walking around. If you could keep her in your prayers. I am praying that she will feel better and if the surgery doesn't do what she was hoping, that she will keep her faith and keep pressing on to what God has in store for her. She is an amazing woman who loves God a lot.
Well, I need to head to bed. it is almost tomorrow.
All my love and prayers
