Happy President's Day!!

Well, we got to enjoy the day together. The kids and I, and it was above freezing, as opposed to the last time I wrote.
It was actually pushing 60, so we went to Bartlett Park, since we knew it wouldn't be slushville. There were still piles of snow there, so we played invade the castle. Pretty much the people on the playground equiptment were the princes/princesses and they could throw snowballs at the invading dinosaurs. The dinosaurs could throw snowballs at the princes and princesses to keep them from getting them. Basically it was tag with snowballs. We were the only ones at the park, so that was fun too. We brought a picnic that we ended up eating in the car. We folded down the seats and ate our sandwiches and carrots there. Then we went to Walmart to get some sandwich baggies and some kites. We got home and went to the parking lot across the rivine to try to fly them. It was fun, since the kites were only $1.
As for last week, school was cancelled that Tuesday. Chris had to drive to Liberty, Mo for spring training. He said roads were terrible. It took them 2 extra hours to get there due to the ice and snow. We got about 4 inches of snow, but with 2 inches of icy junk with it. They did have school on Valentines day, but probably shouldn't have. The road in front of Nathan's school was terrible. A delivery truck had to stop to turn left into the school and got stuck. The traffic backed up all the way to the Belt and Ashland. It was awful. And, along with that, Nathan's head homeroom mom called. Her boys were vomiting and so she wasn't going to be able to help with the party. She had all the goody bags and games and everything. So, I got to the school early to try to organize everything and prep myself. It went well, however, Mrs. Kingery said that she had 3 kids come to school, saying that they had thrown up that morning, but they didn't want to miss the party, so their parents sent them. Sephra and I visited later about how she was the only smart and respectful parent that day.
The kids loved looking at their valentines. They were really dedicated the weekend before preparing their valentines. Handwriting everyones names. I still have some mailed ones to send out. Hannah wanted to include candy, so I need to get a padded envelope for a certain family's valentines to go in. (Sorry Bond family; yours will be late!!)
AS for Thursday, with the weather being frigid, Hannah and I decided to actually paint the bathroom. (Yes, I am ashamed to say that it is still unfinished). She really enjoyed that. She is hoping to finish it with me tomorrow. AS long as I let her pretend to be the mom.
Friday Chris was off, so I went walking with Margaret at the mall and they Chris and I went out to eat dinner at Rib Crib. Then it was off to grocery shop before picking up Hannah. As we picked her up, snow began to fall. By the time we made it to Nathan's school, we could barely see for the downfall. We ended up getting another 1.5 inches. We decided to stay home and play cards and watch movies. We made pizzas and ate Oreos. It was nice.
Saturday we stayed home and rested. I was feeling odd, so I didn't do much. Found out then also that the peanut butter we had in our pantry had been recalled for salmonilla poisioning. No one had gone down sick, but we threw it away anyways.
Sunday was church. I was subbing for a girl in the 2 & 3's this quarter. Wow!! I forgot how much I miss those guys. I had the priviledge of getting to know Ariana McDowell. What a sweetie! Her story is one of miracles and amazement. She LOVES to read!!! I am so looking forward to March, for when I get to be in there and spend time with them every week.
Well, that is about it. A week in summary. I hope that your week was one filled with thankfulness to God and awe of His mercy and grace!!
Until next time!!!
